Gateways
LoRaWAN gateways are devices that receive messages from a node and forward it to a network server. The network server deduplicates the messages and selects the received message with the best signal (in the event that the message is received from multiple gateways) to be sent later to an application server.
A single gateway can service thousands of devices. -
Nodes
LoRaWAN nodes are equipment that collect data from specific probes (temperature, humidity, distance measurement, PH, conductivity, etc...) that send and receive messages with encrypted information through radio frequency signals (LoRa) to gateways that remain listening.

NB-IoT
Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) radio technology standard developed by 3GPP to enable a wide range of cellular devices and services. It is designed for use in Internet of Things (IoT) applications, where low power consumption and wide area coverage are key requirements. NB-IoT operates on licensed spectrum in the cellular network, allowing it to provide secure and reliable data transmission over distances of up to 15 km. In addition to IoT applications, NB-IoT can also be used for machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. NB-IoT is particularly suitable for applications that require low data rates, such as environmental monitoring, smart metering, and smart city applications.
